Please join us as we gather with regional and national leaders in the transportation field for the 69th Maine Transportation Conference, Thursday, December 5, 2019.
Our keynote speaker will be Allie Kelly, executive director of The Ray, an organization serving as a proving ground for the evolving ideas and technologies that will transform the transportation infrastructure of the future, beginning with the corridor of road that is named in memory of Ray C. Anderson (1934-2011). Anderson was a Georgia entrepreneur who challenged his company and others to pursue innovation and sustainability. The 18-mile stretch of Ray highway on I-85 in west Georgia includes several groundbreaking pilot projects, including solar-powered vehicle charging, a drive-through tire safety check station, a solar-paved highway, right-of-way farming, bioswales, right-of-way solar projects and other sustainable transportation pursuits
The Maine Transportation Conference will feature a full day of technical and policy track discussions examining a range of topics from advances in ITS and funding policies to resiliency and sustainability of road surface materials and the use of “big data” in transportation planning and management. There also will be plenty of opportunities to network, student paper presentations and the popular Bridge Breaking Competition.
