WHO WE ARE
Maine Better Transportation Association (MBTA) was founded in 1939 as the Maine Good Roads Association. With a rich history of bringing diverse people together to improve transportation infrastructure in Maine, MBTA changed its name in 1983 to reflect its advocacy for funding infrastructure for all modes of transportation. Members include municipalities, businesses and individuals with common interests who share the goal of advocating for funding of a multimodal transportation network – air, roads, rail, port, transit, bicycle and pedestrian facilities – to serve communities and citizens throughout the state. The MBTA office is in Augusta, near the capitol building.
